*Three 10th pass Men Open IT Firm To Scam People, Arrested In Mumbai*


Mumbai: Three men were arrested from Mumbai for scamming a Nagpur resident out of Rs 5 lakh by posing as customer care representatives for the PhonePe app, stated a police official on Sunday.

The accused with only 10th standard education established an IT firm and scammed people. They are identified as Atul Indrapati Singh (32) of Virar in Palghar, Neeraj Shamkumar Choubey (26) of Nalasopara, and Vikas Meghlal Saw (23) from Dahisar, according to the Nagpur Cyber Police.The suspects, who had founded a company named Samarth IT Solutions, listed their contact information on Google, which led to their arrest following a detailed investigation by the cyber police.In May, Atul Uike, a resident of the Mahal area in Nagpur, encountered issues with the PhonePe app on his mobile device. Seeking a resolution, Uike searched for customer care contact details on Google and found a number listed by Samarth IT Solutions. Believing it to be legitimate, he contacted the number and followed the instructions provided by the fraudsters.According to police officials, the scammers instructed Uike to make a video call during which they manipulated his mobile settings, assuring him that the app would start functioning by night. However, this was part of their deceitful scheme to gain access to his bank details.
