Bengaluru: The CCTV footage of the murder of a 24-year-old woman from Bihar, a private firm employee, emerged on Friday, showing the brutality of the attack and the unfortunate apathy of the hostel mates. The woman, Kriti Kumari, was murdered on the premises of her Paying Guest (PG) hostel in the Koramangala locality of Bengaluru on Tuesday. The preliminary probe revealed that the murderer was Abhishek, a native of Bhopal in Madhya Pradesh. Abhishek was in a relationship with Kriti Kumari's friend and colleague. Abhishek's lover hailed from Maharashtra. Abhishek used to visit the PG hostel and often travelled to Bengaluru from Bhopal to date his girlfriend. The relationship, however, soured between them, and the victim and her friends started to avoid him.  The police said the deceased has been identified as Sowmya, a resident of Koppa in Chikkamagaluru district who had been missing for more than 20 days, and the accused as Srujan, 29, from Sagara in Shivamogga district. The Karnataka Police said they have cracked the case of a 27-year-old missing woman by arresting her boyfriend for allegedly killing her and dumping her body in a trench dug to install water pipes near the state's Sagara city earlier this month.         New Delhi: The Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) has generated the most detailed map of Adam's Bridge - popularly known as Ram Setu - confirming the submerged ridge as a "continuity" from Dhanushkodi in India to Talaimannar Island of Sri Lanka. Researchers from ISRO's Jodhpur and Hyderabad National Remote Sensing Centres carried out the mapping exercise with the National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) satellite ICESat-2 that bounced laser beams off the seafloor to establish that 99.8 percent of Adam's Bridge was submerged in shallow waters. "The results from our research confirm that, in its entirety, Adam's Bridge is a submarine continuation of Dhanushkodi and Talaimannar Island.   The MBVV police chief said that among the arrested, three are from Maharashtra, three from Telangana, eight from Uttar Pradesh, and one from Gujarat. A major underworld-linked inter-state drug syndicate involved in the manufacturing, distributing and selling of synthetic drug Mephedrone (MD) was busted and its 15 memberes were arrested from four states, Mira Bhayandar Vasai Virar (MBVV) police said on Wednesday. Drugs, chemicals and equipment used in manufacturing the drugs worth Rs 327.69 crore were also seized, they said.
